What’s going on everyone. My name is Vik Patel In today’s episode of “Entrepreneur within” we talk about ‘Art of Learning’

Hey, are you an entrepreneur or maybe you already have your online business launched and ready to go either way. I invite you to join me on my journey. As I learn, apply, and share the Internet’s most effective marketing secrets in my business.

All right, so my dog ran away today. We have two dogs and they were playing in the backyard and the little one actually squeezed by the fence that was ripped off and recently fixed. And he ran away because he saw another, the dog. It was a little bit scary, but a couple of our neighbors, were outside and they actually helped us to catch him. It worked out alright but it was a scary experience. In the last episode, we talked about investing in yourself in order to get better at marketing or sales or even just learning new high-income skills. Today, we’ll talk about what you should do after you start investing in yourself. Again, guys, if you are reading this and you know, there is a change that needs to happen right now is the best time to make that happen. Do not wait any longer!

2020 has made me realize a lot of different things. First, I realize was how important your loved ones are, so learn how to give them your time. And the second thing is, if you’re ever going to change, break free and turn your life around right now is the time to do that. So the art of learning, it’s actually quite simple. It only includes two things that you need to know about.

#1 Be self-sustaining. Reading is not enough. Learn how to deep dive, learn how to be curious. And it’s okay to geek out on whatever interests you at the beginning. You would want to know everything that you can about things that are interesting to you. #2 Learn for two. What that means is you need to learn with the intent that you will have to teach whatever you learn later on to someone else.

Again, you’re not selling or prospecting while you do this, you are simply taking what you learn and teaching it to someone else. Now that someone can be, your parents can be a partner, your sibling can be a roommate, even. It’s fine. Just know that when you learn something new, you’re learning for two people, and later on, you are going to teach it to someone else. There are certain benefits to this, and I’ll be discussing this in more detail today. When you learn something new and you are starting to geek out, you will learn a lot of technobabble. Those are terms and abbreviations that your potential client might not even need to know. So what happened is when you start geeking out to at the beginning and learn a lot of things in depth, you learn these new terminologies, that actually makes you feel like you are an expert now.

So when somebody approaches, you to either check for your product or your service, you just go ahead and talk to them with a lot of this technobabble. And that actually does more bad than good. It actually turns them away. It scares them. The whole purpose of you learning for two people is to see if you can simplify what you learn and teach it to someone else who does not have the depth of knowledge like you do. For example, the things that I learned about marketing and sales, I actually talked to my parents every day and I just talked to them about it. And most of the time, the things that I’m talking about, they can understand it without a doubt. I’m able to simplify it for them. That is what we need to learn as an entrepreneur.

I know sometimes it can be complex, but it’s our ability to simplify it is what determines how good we will be in marketing and selling those things. Also, learn how to document what you just learn on the day to day basis. You can journal it, you can start a blog or you can start a podcast. At the beginning of your journey, you are super excited about whatever it is that you are learning your opportunity, the new business, but that does not mean that everybody around you will be as excited and interested in that opportunity like you are. You might want to talk to all of your friends, your siblings, and your partner about this is a cool thing that you are doing and you think they should be doing it too. To you, it sounds like a great opportunity, but to them, it’s like, man, it’s cool, man, but I don’t want to really do it.

I’m going to give you a nice example to help you understand this point. Imagine you are on a ship and it hits an iceberg, just like Titanic. Now people are drowning and they’re metal scraps everywhere. Now, suddenly you hear a rescue-chopper coming your way. I have a question for you. Do you know who will they save first? Or who will they try to save? They will only try to see people who are swimming towards them. They are not going to try rescuing people who are not even trying.

So it’s not your job to convince people that something is better for them. They don’t see things the same way you do, they didn’t had the same experiences, they didn’t go through the same pain that you did. So stop trying to convince people what is good and what is not good for them. Just stay on track and keep working on yourself. If they are ready and interested in the things that you are doing, your opportunity, your product, or your service, they will come to you. And then they will ask you for more information.

In conclusion, the art of learning is quite simple. #1 Learn how to be curious, stay excited, and geek out on whatever is it that you want to learn. And #2 Learn how to simplify it and teach it to someone who might not be as knowledgeable in that subject as you are. If you can teach it, you know it better and most likely you’ll be able to market and sell it way better to your potential clients when the time comes. Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Vik Patel. Thanks a lot for tuning in today until next time, take care.
